Bruce has been getting spoiled over the last few months, and so have I now that I think about it. Most of the time now-a-days, I take Bruce out back without a leash because he is very good about never leaving my sight, staying away from where I tell him to stay away, and coming back inside when I call. So I’ve been able to stand on the back porch to watch him, or even just lounge in one of our lawn chairs while he does his business. When he is done with his business he usually likes to plop down facing the wind and catch the smells as they go by.

Over my Xmas break this last December, 2010, my best friend Renee had just moved into a new apartment in Dallas. I was spending the break at my parent’s house about half an hour’s drive away in Fort Worth, but Renee and I wanted to stay up late drinking champagne so we decided I’d better spend the night at her new apartment. This last Monday was her birthday, April 4th, so I thought this might be a perfect time to spam my blog with photos from our Xmas break sleepover! Love you best friend.

She didn’t have a dining room table and chairs yet, so I brought a blow-up mattress from my parent’s house and set it up in Renee’s dining room! This was my awesome little set up for the night, and I slept really great. I had my gingerbread teddy bear, xmas quilt, and ‘Rachel’ pillow that used to go with my ballet slipper shaped sleeping bag.

Here is a shot of Renee’s living room from the kitchen/next to my air mattress in the dining room. I absolutely love the colors of her walls and the arches between rooms! You can see my little pile of xmas gifts for Renee on the ottoman and I believe that is Lindsay Lohan crying on TV. I can’t even remember which one of her indiscretions is being discussed, there have been so many…

I found a little section on Renee’s fridge dedicated to our friendship! The top photo is both of our favorite of the two of us. The bottom photo is from our six week trip to France with a teacher from our high school and four other students. This was one of our last days of the trip, lounging on the beach in Nice. I ended up with a wicked sunglass tan.

I could not ignore this magnet on her fridge. It is totally one of my philosophies in life

This adorable photo of Renee’s nephew and frame were prominently on display in her kitchen. It was the result of a few days of intense crafting back in the summer of 2010 when I was visiting Renee for a week at her old apartment. We sat on her couch painting and glittering and watching a marathon of 8 Pretty Little Liars episodes in a row. I was impressed with us. This frame turned out SO cute but it still isn’t enough to out shine her incredibly adorable nephew, Wyatt. Does he look like a little model or what?

Of course I had to try and get a few good pictures of her lovable pooch, Titan. Poor little fella wasn’t used to the new apartment and hard wood floors yet, and he refused to go past the threshold of the living room. The couch seemed to be his safe spot, so I got a few good snaps of him in his comfort zone. Look at those gorgeous golden eyes! Titan is so much fun to play with; I love getting on the floor and getting rowdy with him, you don’t have to be fragile with him like you do Brucey.
I hope Renee enjoyed the sleepover as much as I did. I’m greatly looking forward to moving back to the DFW area this summer to hang out with my best friend on the regular.
The other night, Bruce was looking so adorable (per usual) while we were hanging around the kitchen and I realized I didn’t even have any pictures of him lounging on his kitchen rug. It is one of those ‘claw’ aliens from Toy Story. We put the rug right in front of his food and water bowls, so he can sit to eat and drink. Turns out that impulse buy from the children’s bathroom section at Target was worth it after all! Anyway, the thing will be beyond saving one of these days, but I’ll want to remember how sweet Brucey looked sitting right on its face.
